The Curt Keeney Tennis Program was founded by Christina Keeney McClelland in 2021. Her father’s commitment to serving others and bringing the game of tennis to communities that may otherwise not have access lives on as the program’s primary purpose. Curt Keeney believed that sports, specifically the game of tennis, should be open to all people regardless of socioeconomic background. Curt recognized the two biggest hurdles for young underserved players—access and equipment. Christina witnessed her father’s inclusive spirit and love of the game throughout her years as a junior tennis player. In 1997, Curt lost his battle to leukemia. As a collegiate athlete, Christina used Curt’s passing both as motivation to succeed as well as fuel for her passion to give back. The Curt Keeney Tennis Program is run by Christina McClelland, an author and mother of two girls, along with her husband, Dr. Walter McClelland Jr, in Atlanta, Georgia.

We are proud to partner with Odyssey Atlanta, a transformational academic program with a proven track record since 2006. The Odyssey scholars spend six weeks on the campus of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, where they are immersed in creative and rich concepts that help them prepare for the school year ahead. Odyssey targets students enrolled in Atlanta Public Schools in rising 1st to 12th grade and serves over 400 children per year. It is one of the most dynamic and impressive organizations that I have ever seen and we are honored to partner with Odyssey and the amazing scholars that come not only to the classroom ready to work and explore but also push their own boundaries by trying new things—like tennis. Nothing gives me more joy than seeing a child hold a tennis racket for the first time, make contact with the tennis ball, and beam with excitement and confidence.
